Wouldn’t the world be a better place if only people would take this great advice from Abraham Lincoln. Really…..just going about your day, doing good deeds, helping others, working hard, trying your best and giving everything you do 110%, but doing all that just for the sake of feeling good about yourself and not seeking anything in return rather than looking for an “atta boy”, praise from others and hoping to be rewarded. Somethin’ to think about………

Again, Teresa, so true. Allowing others to define how we feel about ourselves and our efforts, uh-uh. Because there are people who would never allow us to rise up and spread our wings. Better to take our own sometimes faltering steps and then be proud of ourselves for overcoming difficulties. Life is sweet and so are you.

Teresa, this is so true. And it lines up with a favorite Bible verse of mine – one that often goes overlooked. 1 Thessalonians 4:11 says “…to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands…” In other words, tend to the basics. We get so busy doing everything BUT, and striving for everything ELSE – and we lose sight of that. Thanks for the reminder! Mr. Lincoln knew a thing or two…
