PN073-Boo Bear

Another quick, easy and fun design to punch! I love this lil’ primitive bear…he is also available as "Liberty Bear" all decked out in red, white & blue. I thought it might be fun to have him dressed for the different holidays.

Most of my punchneedle patterns fit in a 7" hoop….some need the 9" hoop, but I reeeaaally want to create some larger designs. Here’s my quandary…..I have rubber stamps made of each design to stamp onto the weaver’s cloth but if I create designs too large they will have to be screen printed onto the fabric…….I had bought a screen printer long ago (I can’t even remember why we bought it) and I need to find it and learn how to use it. Once that lil’ problem is solved, I will have more freedom in what I design. It’s on the ever expanding "to-do" list……and I know all you busy ladies can relate to that list……..

PN071-Santa’s Surprise

I love Santa’s expression! This was a really quick and easy design to punch. I used a new color from Weeks Dye Works called "Baked Apple" for the coat and border…..it looks like a faded burgundy giving this piece an antique look. Pattern available soon!

PREPARE….

"Prepare"

papers on canvas painted with acrylics and distressed 20" x 20"

"Prepare" detail

I had this finished yesterday but it was too dark and rainy to get a good photo….so here it is! I just love the textures and crackle finish on this piece….it is very antiqued. Again with the Abe Lincoln quotes!!! I just can’t help myself. His words of wisdom really speak to me and hopefully you to.

Now it is time to do the drawing for the "Got Wool" purse……I will post the winner soon!

This morning I added some framed prints & originals to my Etsy shop! We are cleaning out the "storage" side of my studio and we are finding some great treasures! Hope you enjoy them, too. Click here to go directly to my shop 🙂

This summer Ryan is going to run our ebay store. I have so many samples from my licensees over the years that are just sitting on shelves still in boxes…..some never opened! Park designs ceramic tabletop pieces, Amcal teddy bear boxed note cards, Blossom Bucket figurines just to name a few. I recently almost closed my eBay store because I just don’t have the time to run it properly, but Ryan is very capable and eager to make some spending money this summer! I will let y’all know when we add product!

Yesterday about 6pm Ryan came in the house and said, "Mom, where’s your camera. I found a bird’s nest and the sun is shining on it….it would make a great picture." Well, I thought to myself, I really don’t want him to climb a tree with my expensive camera, so I found my small, more portable, less expensive camera and off he went. I am impressed with these shots…he has a good eye for picture taking. I did take the photos into picnik and play with the effects but he gave me a great foundation to start from. Thanks, Ryan!!

We will keep you all posted as to what lil’ baby birds will hatch from these eggs……..

"

Life in your years"

acrylic on canvas 30" x 15"

"Life in your years" (close up)

I love how this painting turned out! There are so many layers of color it really adds depth. Click on the pictures to enlarge them so you can see the detail. The quote is an Abraham Lincoln quote "In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years".

and now…………below is my next endeavor. I layered stretched canvas with papers for yet another dimension then loosely painted black gesso over the papers. Can’t wait to get painting on this one….
