Last weekend we went to my brother-in-law’s house in Manistee, Michigan. We pulled our camper up there and stayed in it since there were so much of the family there. The weather was not great…..it rained starting Friday night and all the way through til Monday…the day we had to leave. But when the weather is like that it keeps everyone inside visiting and playing games so it wasn’t all bad :)

October 6 show

October 17, 2012

My friend, Jann, and I traveled to Findlay, Ohio to do a show at Early American Home Store. It was Barb’s, the owner of the store, first year doing this event. Oh boy the weather was coooollllldddd and breezy that Saturday! We had a wonderful time and thank you to Barb for inviting us :) Here are some photos of our booth, other vendors and inside EAH store.

Below are photos of Jann’s Vintage Romance handmade jewelry and felted totes/ornaments.

Some of my goodies below…

Meet Kay and Ruth. They are sisters with the business name of Crows on the Ridge, creative sewing and painting. They are very talented and fun ladies! Very original designs as you will see below.

This is one of the problems of not posting as soon as I return home….I forgot the names of the ladies that made the below goodies! Wonderfully primitive stitcheries.

The following photos are from inside Early American Home. B.e.a.utiful!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! TTFN (I know all you tigger fans know what that means!)

new clay pieces…..

October 4, 2012

I have had these clay pieces sitting around the studio for at least three years…probably more. I decided to paint and finish them for the show Jann and I are doing this weekend in Findlay, Ohio at Early American Home. I wanted to offer something a little special and different…but now that I have these done, I am itching to make more!!!!

If you live anywhere near Findlay, Ohio, come and see us!! Barb invited 10 artisans to display and sell their handmade goodies at her shop! Hope to see you there :)

I finished this design while working the Davisburg show. I know exactly what I want to do to finish it, but not sure if I know how. My plan is to make this into a door pillow with a primitive ribbon for the hanger. I am also going to sew 5-7 rusty jingle bells across the bottom. I have several new designs now that I need to make into patterns…….coming soon :)

ahhh Davisburg….

October 1, 2012

LOVED this large barn! They had appraisals going all weekend…..I didn’t think of it until Sunday but I have something I would love to have appraised. It is an antique paper mache mold of an amazing looking angel. I am curious what it is worth…. to me it is priceless because I love it so much! but still……just curious

There were four or more barns full of vendors plus the outside vendors. Thank you God for the beautiful weather. It was sunny and mid 60s Saturday and cloudy low 60s Sunday. Nice fall weather.

This is the poultry barn where Jann and I had our booth. We were down on the right side. Here to the left is Wren in the Willow and Holly Hills Primitives. Love them both!

Here is a picture of Holly Hills Primitives booth. Check out their blog…they own a store in Holly MI

Here is Jann and I :) Havin’ fun on Sunday. (thank you Dawn from Holly Hills Primitives for the photo)

Jann makes amazing wool purses and totes. She knits them first (and they are taller than her when she is done knitting) then she wet felts them, needle felts images/words  on them, sews on leather handles by hand and tops them off with a clay button and a felted 3-D pull. She puts 30-40 hours into each bag. Truly amazing work!

Close up of Jann’s Got Wool tote……sold as we were packing up to leave!!!

If you missed the Davisburg show, I feel for you. It was really a great show! We will certainly be back there next year!
That’s it for now friends. By the way, Dawn from Holly Hills Primitives (HHP) has invited Jann and I to set up at her store during the Dickens Festival the weekend after Thanksgiving! So exctied! More info to come!
ALSO, Jann will be teaching needle felting and I will be teaching punchneedle at HHP in January! Sure to be a great time! Only 8 people per class so watch HHP blog to sign up :)
Blessings to you all for a wonderful week. This Friday, Jann and I will be in Findlay Ohio for a show! Tis the season………

party book pages. They look super great!
Getting ready for the Handcrafters show in Davisburg Michigan this weekend and then the following weekend, October 6, I will be in Findlay Ohio at Early American Home store. Barb, the owner, is having some primitive folk artists set up booths in her store parking lot and yard! Sure to be a blast! Hope to see you at one or both!!

punchneedle pattern
Just finished this piece today!!! I was so inspired after going to Sauder Village this year that I decided to create some patterns that look more like hooked rugs….and this one does! I love how it turned out! I will be working on the directions soon so that I can offer this pattern to all of you Halloween punchneedle fans :)
Blessings!

last weekend…

September 13, 2012

My friend, Peggy, and her husband, Bob, transformed their home into a Country Shoppe!! They spent days and days with much help from friends taking down all their own decorations to make room for all the goodies! They were gracious enough to ask me to display some of my work for their show and, of course, I said yes! Here are some photos of “A Place We Call Home Gathering”. (Sorry the photos are so blurry….I was using a very professional camera but lacked the knowledge of how to use it!)
They opened up their family room (entrance and check-out), the kitchen (supplied food & punch for all the guests), the bathroom, the kitchen, another family room and living room…..all stocked full of great Halloween and Christmas goodies! Oh, and let’s not forget the entertainment! All three days of the home show they had live entertainment to greet their guests!

Peggy took a tree branch that had fallen in her yard, painted it cream, put lights on it and hung Halloween ornaments on it……Fantastic idea! She gave me the another one to give to my Mom :)

I wanted to buy this but waited too long!
Peggy and Bob’s friends, Dawn & Dick were there helping all week. They own a primitive shoppe in Holly Michigan called “Holly Hill Primitives“. She makes wonderful primitive home decor accessories and Dick makes awesome wood funiture and accessories such as the make do chair they are standing behind.  I enjoyed meeting them and getting to know Dawn while we “fluffed” a gazillion Christmas trees together!

Here is a shot of my display

Definitely making more of the silhouette framed pieces for future shows….they sold and I wish I had more of them!

Peggy & Me
I have to say the best part about the entire home show was the time I got to spend with such wonderful people! Meeting new friends (Dawn, Dick, Judy, Cindy & Mark, Nancy), seeing some that I haven’t seen in an age (Lauren, Alison, Christina, Gina, Virginia, Colleen, Teresa) and hangin’ out with good friends (Bob, Peggy, Linda)

A big THANK YOU to Bob and Peggy for being so welcoming and kind enough to open your beautiful home to all of us!
