Whimsy 365: Day 103
These two chicks will be painted like the white and black hens we have. They are called Brahma chickens and they are striking. Time to get the brushes wet!
Blessings,

We are in the frigid days of January here in Michigan. My hands get so cold throughout the day. Hope you are staying warm!

I survived Atlanta!! AmericasMart was so fun! I loved reconnecting with my licensees and visiting with fellow artists. Oh and the weather….it was sunny and in the upper 40s lower 50s….wonderful for walking off those big dinners on our way back to the hotel. My feet are still recovering from the two days of walking but it was worth every step.
I can’t wait to tell you all about what I experienced at the market. I am doing a video and blog post this week which will be posted at Gather Dream Create.
Blessings,
Teresa
PS – I am hoping to license my chicken art as a calendar hence the Valentines day image 😉

Tomorrow I am Atlanta bound!! I am attending Americas Mart to meet with some of my licensees and network with artist friends. I’ve been going since…gee, not real sure but I think since 2000. I haven’t been for the past few years for a few reasons that I will get into some other time. lol
When I return I will be blogging everything I learned and saw at the mart over at Gather Dream Create.
Blessings,
Teresa

Today, my sweet Athena and my Mom’s pup, Emma, are both getting spade today. I have never been nervous about my dogs getting spade or neutered but I think it’s because she’s such a nervous dog and has already been through so much. A few months before we adopted her she had ran away and was missing for three days and two nights in the middle of a Michigan winter. She was only 6mo old when that happened to her. She had gotten frost bite on her tail. Poor baby. Then her master (my best buddie’s son) was moving and he couldn’t keep her so he asked us to take her. So those are two traumatic experiences in her young life which has made her nervous and very leery of men.
Anyhoo, she and Emma are staying the night at the vet’s office and we’ll get our fur babies back home tomorrow.
Blessings,
Teresa

Another chicken for ya! I really like this one.
Today I am painting! Have you ever heard of intuitive painting? Well, I am giving it a try and so far loving it! I am taking photos as I go to show you the process and will post when I’m done….sometime next week.
Intuitive painting is where you start with a blank canvas and just start painting. Layering color with no end design in mind. Adding shapes as you go. The painting will evolve as you see “things” in the shapes and brush strokes. It’s a blast!!
Can’t wait to see the finished painting!
Blessings,
Teresa
UPDATE: It’s done! This was the most fun I’ve had painting in a long time 🙂

My feet are hitting the ground running today. So many errands to run (not my favorite thing to do). I am a home body and love being in the studio on weekdays but our sweet Athena is getting spade on Wednesday so today she’s getting her blood drawn. Poor baby.
Wishing you a wonderful week!
Blessings,
Teresa
PS – I am hoping to design a chicken calendar for Legacy so I’ve been sketching a lot of chickens lately 🙂
