Whimsy 365: Day 130
Today is Emma’s last day with us. My Mom is coming home from her trip. As much as I love Emma Sue, I am looking forward to things getting back to normal around here. Emma and Athena play, play, play and then play some more. They need constant monitoring. They are best buds.
Hope you enjoy your day,
Teresa

Whimsy 365: Day 126
This morning was nuts! Ryan and I were going to Kettering University for Registration and had to be there at 8:45…or so we thought.
I finish my workout, shower, clean up after my sweet Daisy (she had a bit of an accident in the house so the floor needed cleaned up as well as her). I’m in the bathroom getting ready and Ryan says, “Their website states that it starts at 8:00″. At this point it’s already 7:15 and it takes 25 minutes to get there…and my hair is still wrapped in a towel, the dogs need fed and time outside to do their “business”, Athena needed dropped off at my Mom’s, the garbage needed taken to the road and neither Ryan or I have ate breakfast.
So we kicked it into high gear! I’ve never done my hair so fast in my life and while I finished up, Ryan did all the other things that needed done. We grabbed some toast with peanut butter and an apple for the drive. I called my Mom while in the car and she said she’d pick up Athena for us so that was a HUGE relief.
We arrive at Kettering, go inside to find out that the tours starts at 8:45 (which we didn’t need to do since a couple months ago he and I already went on one). The actual program didn’t start until 10am!! Lol! We just had to laugh at ourselves.
The website did read 8:00am but I think he was looking in the wrong spot. Anyway, it wasn’t a big deal. We had lots of time to talk and spend time together which we rarely get to do.
Blessings,
Teresa
Whimsy 365: Day 125
Puppy sitting for my Mom today. Emma and Athena are running the house while I sit at the dining room table and paint some watercolors wishing I had their energy!
While painting, I’m listening to an audio book called Troublemaker by Leah Remini. She was the star from King of Queens. The audio book is read by her which really brings the story to life. It’s about her life being raised in Scientology and how she left that church. I was always curious about what Scientology was all about….I knew some of the Hollywood stars were heavily involved in it and I knew it was ridiculous but I was curious as to their practices and why anyone would be drawn to it.
Her story is one of bravery. It was very interesting and a real eye opener to the church of Scientology.
Blessings,
Teresa

Whimsy 365: Day 124
Today is Ash Wednesday the start of the Lenten Season.
“Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. Lent comes from the Anglo Saxon word lencten, which means “spring.” The forty days represents the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, enduring the temptation of Satan and preparing to begin his ministry.
Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of self-examination and reflection. In the early church, Lent was a time to prepare new converts for baptism. Today, Christians focus on their relationship with God, often choosing to give up something or to volunteer and give of themselves for others.
Sundays in Lent are not counted in the forty days because each Sunday represents a “mini-Easter” and the reverent spirit of Lent is tempered with joyful anticipation of the Resurrection.”
I love this time of year. It is a time of inward reflection and growing my relationship with God.
Blessings,
Teresa

Whimsy 365: Day 123
An addition to my Whimsy Chicks line. A couple of years ago I created a line of fun, whimsical girls in watercolor. I really enjoyed painting them but the sketching process is even more fun so I decided to add a few new ones. Below are some of the finished ones I created a couple years ago.
Blessings,
Teresa
