Green Coat Santa

Green coat Santa page

Green Coat Santa was first introduced in my Patreon July 2022. My friend, Denise, is a member of my Patreon and she stitched it for herself. I had the design charted with DMC floss. Denise wanted to use a variegated floss for his coat so she stitched him using Bayberry from Weeks Dye Works. It came out soooo good!

Most of the time I hire model stitchers to stitch my models for me so I have them to photograph, to show on my Flosstube video, to show at the Nashville market and to take with me to any retreats where I may have a pop-up shop.

However, when I was getting the Hello Santa book designed and ready for the publisher, I knew Denise and another sweet friend Dawna had already stitched some of the Santas for themselves so I asked to borrow their finished pieces to photograph for the book.

Denise of Dot Dot Goose Designs had stitched Green Coat Santa and she was so kind to let me borrow him. I intended to put her floss conversion in the book but I forgot. She only changed one color and it was the green of the coat.

Keep in mind, hand dyed floss can change over time. She stitched it 2 years before the book was released so the Weeks Dye Works Bayberry may be slightly different than what you see on the cover. Another good floss for the green coat is Grassland by Weeks Dye Works.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused when you received your book and wondered what floss was used for his coat. Remember, I’m human and make mistakes too.

One last thing….Denise used 2 skeins of Bayberry from Weeks Dye Works because she stitched 2 over 2 on 32 count fabric. The chart in the book tells how many stitches for each floss color. To determine how many skeins you’ll need for the fabric count you are using, you can do the math using Lindy Stitches chart by clicking here.

Thank you for your understanding.
